La Chandeleur
Join us for an informal gathering as the AFF celebrates La Chandeleur!
Time & Location
Jan 24, 2027, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Frederick, 6351 Alan Linton Blvd E, Frederick, MD 21703, USA
About the event
Celebrating La Chandeleur (Candlemas) is one of France's most beloved traditions. The blend of pagan rituals and Christian customs are combined to create a culinary experience that spans generations. Candlemas celebrations began during the Middle Ages, and crêpes became a symbolic representation of the midpoint between winter and spring.
Once again, the AFF is pleased to share this beloved French tradition with members and friends. This informal gathering will include crêpes sucrées and French conversation. If you are new to the AFF or if your French is a bit rusty, don't worry! Our La Chandeleur event welcomes Francophones of all levels.
Those who have an individual or family membership to the AFF receive early access to ticket purchase and discounted pricing to attend the event. If you have an AFF family membership, the purchase of only one family ticket is necessary.
The event will be held in the Linton…
