Alliance Française de Frederick, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting French language and culture in the Frederick community. Our mission is to provide high-quality cultural events and resources to people of all ages and backgrounds. Florence Ramond Jurney
President
A native of France, Florence Ramond Jurney is Professor of French and Francophone Studies at Gettysburg College. Florence is passionate about French and francophone cultures, or, in other words, the cultures of countries that still speak French even though some of them are now independent.
Caroline Dufossé
Treasurer
Caroline Dufossé, the AFF's current AFF treasurer, moved to Frederick from France in July 2017. Caroline received her business degree from the Léseg School of Management in Lille, France. While there, she was part of a year-long exchange program at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Caroline is deeply involved in the Frederick community; she volunteers for the AFF and her local PTSA.
Kirsten Peeler
Communications
Kirsten Peeler is a native Marylander, having grown up in Howard County. After studying French in high school and college, she improved her French skills when she spent her junior year abroad in Nice, France. Kirsten is interested in all things dance, historical, architectural, and French.
Denise Morrow
Secretary
Denise Pelletier Morrow was born in New York City to French parents from Nancy, Lorraine. She grew up bilingual and frequently traveled to France to visit extended family. Since retiring from the Montgomery County Public School system, Denise has devoted much of her time as a Frederick County Master Gardener, a knitter, and an avid reader. She currently belongs to several book clubs, including the AFF Club du livre.
Cody Rosenbarker
Program Coordinator
Cody Rosenbarker grew up in rural New York, and later became an exchange student living with host families in Belgium to complete a second senior year of high school. Cody has also lived in France (2010: Strasbourg, 2011: Toulouse, and 2016-2018: Aix-en-Provence), French Guiana (2011-2012), and Hong Kong (2015-2016). He has lived in Frederick since 2018 and is heavily involved in the Deaf community but still keeps ties with everything French!
